INSINC
and Knowledge Network Form Strategic Alliance to Offer New
Educational Webcasting Service
BURNABY,
BC - Interactive Netcasting Systems Inc., (INSINC, Canada's
largest netcasting company has signed a partnership agreement
with Knowledge Network to offer Knowledge Network Interactive
(KNI) - a new educational Webcasting service.
Under
the agreement, Knowledge Network will provide the expertise
in content production and packaging and INSINC, who ties
directly into the AT&T backbone with their own ATM network,
will provide the most reliable and scalable delivery of
audio and video over the Internet. Knowledge Network is
further establishing itself as an educational resource for
BC. "Utilizing INSINC's robust media streaming network,
our focus now goes beyond just television, into the Internet
world with the launch of KNI." says Bohdan Zajcew, General
Manager for Knowledge Network. "We are excited by the challenge
and opportunity that this new medium can offer to our clients,
here at home and abroad."
Hugh
Dobbie, President of INSINC, had a vision about the
huge potential of streaming media when his company in 1995,
first started streaming audio over the Internet. "It is
just a matter of time before more and more applications
utilizing media streaming technology become mainstream.
The impact of the Internet to get audio and video educational
content directly to the desktop is just part of that evolution."
Knowledge Network Interactive will focus on three main client
areas: government, corporate training and communications,
and educational event markets. KNI offers a combination
of high quality video with text and graphics, with enhanced
features such as polling and chat for optimum interaction
with an on-line audience.
Knowledge
Network Interactive will debut at the World
Education Market (WEM) in Vancouver, British Columbia
on May 24 - 27, 2000 at the Vancouver Trade and Convention
Centre.
